HE IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

In the book of Luke 2:10-11, we read that while some shepherds were watching their flock by night, angel of the Lord appeared to them to proclaim the good news of the birth of Jesus Christ to them.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11King James Version (KJV)
Why were they not to fear but to rejoice? Jesus himself provided the answer in Luke 4:18-19.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19 NKJV)
The good news and the reason for his coming into this world were summarized by him in six areas:
  • To preach the gospel to the poor.
  •  To heal the brokenhearted
  •  To proclaim liberty to the captives
  •  Recovery of sight to the blind
  •  To set at liberty those who are oppressed
  •  To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
The gospel is that he came to reconcile us back to the Father by dying to forgive us of our sins. He paid the price that we should have paid for disobeying our maker. We were as filthy rags before him but through Jesus, we are now counted worthy as his children.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of all our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9King James Version (KJV)

If you are discouraged in spirit and in life, Jesus came to heal your wounds and to give you hope and a new life. He came to mend our broken heart. He came to give us a hope and a future. He came to restore us to the Father.

"…23and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed." I Peter 2:23-24

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5

He came to snatch us from the hands of Satan. So that we would no longer serve him but to live unto righteousness. We have a victories life in Christ Jesus. We are set free from the bondage of sins and eternal condemnation. We are no longer slaves to our fleshly desires such as drunkeness, selfishness, gossips, hatred, pornography, homosexuality, lesbianism, greed, fornication, adultery, and all other sexual immorality.

When Jesus sets you free, you are free indeed!

John 8:36 (NIV):  So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

If you are tormented by evil spirits, I want you to know that Jesus has the power to let you loose right now. You are no longer under the oppression of the evil one. He came to cast out the demons in your life so that you can live a victorious life. He opened the prison doors to let you walk out and have life full of joy. The pain and suffering of this world is nothing if you focus on the joy and crown that the faithful would receive in heaven.

Physically, he came to heal the sick, the blind, the lame, the lepers, the deaf, the epileptic, and even raised the death. No matter your state or condition, Jesus Christ has the solution. He is the Lord of Lords, and the King of Kings. The author of life! As you read this message, may this season be unique to you. May you experience healing and an uncommon favor and blessing from the Lord. This day is the acceptable year of the Lord. A day for you to embrace and to live righteously before him. May this day be the starting point of victory.

HAPPY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
