AN APPOINTMENT WITH GOD

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." Hebrews 9:27

We all have just one chance to live on this earth no matter your age, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, or creed. We have been given the same number of hours per day, days per week, and weeks per year to use as we deem appropriate. Some choose to use it wisely, while others use it foolishly. Some knowing act foolishly out of ignorance but others have full knowledge of what they are doing. God expects us to be wise in the use of our lives on this earth. He always gives us the daily opportunity to live aright for him. Because of His love for us, He sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to come down in the flesh to come and die for our sins. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY Begotten Son, that whosoever, believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life."

If you do not have Jesus in your life, you are condemn to hell and eternal fire burning with brimstone. But when you are saved by master Jesus, you have eternal life; life that continues forever and ever in the heavenly abode. Where is your heart today? Are you for Jesus or for Satan. Only Jesus can save! There is no other name given under heaven whereby you can be saved.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Who is the Lord of your life?

It is appointed unto man, once to die and after this there is judgment. The judgment will desire where you spend eternity. Are you going to HEAVEN or HELL? I pray that today, you would choose HEAVEN! 

How can you be saved? It is very simple yet difficult for many! 

• Acknowledge that you have sinned and fallen short of God's glory.
• Repent of your sins.
• Ask God for forgiveness of your sins.
• Believe that Jesus can save you and ask Him to take control of your life.
• Decide that you will no more go back to your sins but will live a Holy life for Jesus.

WILL YOUR ANCHOR HOLD IN THE STORMS OF LIFE?

1.      Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

      We have an anchor that keeps the soul
      Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
      Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
      Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.

2	It is safely moored, ’twill the storm withstand, For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand; And the cables passed from His heart to mine, Can defy the blast, through strength divine.
3	It will firmly hold in the straits of fear, When the breakers have told the reef is near; Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow, Not an angry wave shall our bark o’er flow.
4	It will surely hold in the floods of death, When the waters cold chill our latest breath; On the rising tide it can never fail, While our hopes abide within the veil. Apostle Paul says in Romans 8:35-39: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written ,  For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.   Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded , that neither death, nor life, nor angels,  nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present , nor things to come , Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  How constant are you in your walk with the Lord? If Christ is for you, who can be against us? Keep up the faith and remain strong in the Lord.

GOD IS OUR REFUGE

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." Psalm 91

The is no fear for those who live in righteousness and holiness. This is the secret place of the most high. It is the place of sinlessness, the "Holy of Holies". When you dwell in holiness, you have nothing to fear because you are pleasing the Lord in every way. You abide under His protective powers and He ensures that no harm befalls you. He becomes your shield and defender because you have surrounded your life to Him. Adam and Eve went out of the covering of the Almighty by their disobedience, so they realized that they were naked. They became vulnerable to the wiles and works of the devil. As you make up your mind to live in righteousness today, you will live in peace and not worry about events around you because you are under God's protection. God is love and all those who love him must desire to abide under His shadow of righteousness. Make God your habitation today and He shall supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.

THE ALPHA AND OMEGA

" I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Rev. 1:8

The Lord God in heaven is the beginning and the end of everything we can ever imagine and think of. He created the heavens and the earth when there was no form. Out of nothing He created human beings. From dust, he breathed into us the breath of life and we became a living being. He declares that He is the "Almighty."

How have you acknowledged this God in the past? Do you see Him as just the God of yesterday and not today? How do you accept Him today in your life? Is He the one guiding you through your present situation or have you neglected Him because you think He is outmoded? God did many miracles and wonders in the lives of many people in the Bible. He healed the sick, the blind could see, the lame could walk, the deaf could hear, and those with evil spirits were delivered from the demons. The power of God never diminishes because He is the same today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 says that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." God does not change! Jesus is God so He remains unchanged. 

Because He does not change, His words will do not change either. So if he says that He is coming again, He will surely come to take home His children. Are you ready to meet the Lord when He comes again to judge the living and the dead? Behold, He is coming soon! REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS. If anyone believes in Him, and accepts Him as the Lord, the Alpha and Omega, you will be saved. You then become His child. The Almighty is coming back with judgment, rewards, and punishments. Are you on the Lord's side or against Him. 

For all those persecuting the children of God, the Lord Almighty has given you the chance to repent of all your iniquities before He rains His fire of brimstones on you. Hell fire is awaiting you unless you stop this persecution. If you are being persecuted today, rest assured, that the Lord calls you blessed! Your reward is in heaven as you endure all the pains and suffering. Your bodily pains cannot be compared with the joy and blessings that will be bestowed on you in heaven our eternal home. The Lord is forever faith and He will sure see you through this life to the end. He who began a good work in you will certainly bring it to completion at the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord!

The Yosemite National Park is certainly a great wonder of God's creation. There is no way anybody can say that there is no God.

EXERCISE SELF-CONTROL

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. (Proverbs 25:28 King James Bible)

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.(Proverbs 25:28 English Standard Version)

Self-control is the ability of someone to control his/her temperament in the face of challenges and confrontations. Many people will overact when somebody insults or offends them. Road rage is an example of the inability to control one's self. Why would somebody cause injury to another person or property just because somebody crosses them on the road. Are these people insane? Not really! They just snap and fail to exercise self-control. They act irrationally and become chaotic. They are like "a city broken into and left without walls." There is no rule of law. Anything goes attitude. They cannot suppress the self and the animalistic behavior set in. How do you control your anger, hunger, sexual appetite, thought processes, feelings, etc. ? Do you allow them to go beyond control? Are you able to suppress evil and wicked thoughts? When somebody hurts you, do you plan to repay by hurting them?
If you do, you are not exercising self-control. 

Proverbs 16:32 says, "Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. Patience is a virtue that has to be desired. It is a powerful weapon that can be used to defeat, oppose or overcome adverse situations. When you are patient in times of adversities, you are able to think right and to make the right judgments. Patience takes you out of troubles. Before you act, you think through the consequences of your actions. Patience is an attitude that the world has taken for granted. We look at patient people as if they are weak yet this is one of the greatest virtues that one must yearn for. We leave in the fast and drive-through world where we want instant answers and actions for everything. We act quickly and in the end, we end up with more problems to fix. I pray that you will learn to be patient as you face difficult and challenging situations. 

Learn to control your temperaments by stopping, thinking, and acting right. Give yourself time to reflection on your anticipated actions. "Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult. " (Proverbs 12:16)

Whatever actions you take, ask yourself if it would bring glory to God. May you be that city that has walls that cannot be broken in times of needs and challenges. 

DELAYAL IS NOT DENIAL

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 2 Peter 3:8New International Version (NIV)

Once in a while, we must remind ourselves of the fact that God is God and we cannot alter his divine time table. We cannot twist His hands to act in our designated time. He alone decides to perform what He wants in His own time according to His own will. When you pray, ask that the will of God may be done in your life. Allow God to answer your prayer in His own appointed time. Do not hasten Him to answer your prayer. By doing so, you fail to acknowledge that He knows what you need before you even ask. He is a loving God who answers all prayers. The answer to your prayer may appear to have delayed according to your calendar, but to God, it has not delayed. Delayal is not denial!  

A thousand years is like a day to God, and a day is like a thousand years to Him. Nothing is too small or too large for God. He can hasten the answer to your prayers or delay it for your own good. Why does He do that? God assesses the benefit or risk of the request that you make to Him. Fulfilling certain request at a certain time may not be the best for your at that time. It may be reserved for another time when it may be more beneficial to you or others. Some request may be for self gratification which may be contrary to what God wants so he will not honor it. God would only answer prayers that will bring glory to himself. In the John 11, we read of the story of Lazarus being raised from the dead by Jesus. Jesus delayed for four days before he arrived at the house of Lazarus even though he was informed and he knew about his death ahead of time. He told his disciples that he did this so that the glory of the Lord would be seen and that all everybody will believe that he is Lord. Be patient in prayers, wait on the Lord until he comes through with the answers. 

Be assured that God answers all prayers. It may be yes, no, or wait.
