BE STILL! GOD IS IN CONTROL!

“Be still, and know that I am God;   I will be exalted among the nations,  I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10(NIV)

"Be still" comes from the Hebrew word "rapha". It is translated as "to be weak", "to let go", "to release". The word comes from the causative verb in Hebrew (Hiphil stem), so we can say that "be still" means to "cause yourself to let go; to cause yourself to be weak; to cause yourself to be released." To "be still" is to cause yourself to be relieved of fear, danger, anxiety, anger, problems, etc. To what extent are we to remain still. We need to be still to the point that we know God is in control. Been still is like being dead and not having control of any of your vital organ. You have to be moved around. When you are dead to the self and you allow God to take control of your life and life activities, you have reached the the point of being still and knowing that God is God. In this modern times, we are bombarded with many wars, wickedness beyond comprehension, hatred, insensitivity and callousness. Words cannot describe the state of this generation or era. The declaration of the last days are being fulfilled rapidly. For Christians, we must remain "still" because the coming of the Lord is near. It is easy to fret and to forget that the Lord is in control. But they that know the Lord and wait upon him, shall renew their strength because the Lord is about to "be exalted among the nations, exalted in the earth. "Do not worry about what is going on around you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, with all your might and with all your strength. He has assured you of his victory. Only be still and you will see the glory of God.

Exodus 14:14 (ESV) reads, "The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
