And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter. Esther 2:7 (KJV)
15 Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.
16 So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.
17 And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
18 Then the king made a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther's feast; and he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king.
Esther 2:15-18 (KJV)
Changing her name to Esther by the Babylonians did not hide her qualities or God-giving abilities. She lived up to her name. She was true to herself! As a young Hebrew girl, she held on to the teachings she had received and she stood firm in the face of many adversaries to the point of even risking her own life to save her own people or nation. She could have decided to enjoy her new found life in the king's palace but the spirit in her was not at peace because of the suffering she saw among her people and heard from her cousin, Mordecai, who had taken care of her after she was orphaned.
Situations and circumstances in your life would change but always stay true to your God, who sees all things in secret. You may be called by different names by different people because of the way they perceive you, but let not that change you. Always be authentic and true to the best of your ability. Know yourself and focus on maintaining your relationship with God no matter where you find yourself. Your inner beauty stands out when you are always genuine and craft your our personality and self as God intended it to be. Your inner beauty would attract others to you because of the favor that the Lord bestows on you. This favor would then be extended to others and an entire people would be blessed because of your focus on God.
Esther was a nobody until God promoted her to somebody in the king's palace.
Joseph was a nobody in prison until God promoted him to somebody in Pharoah's palace.
David was a mere shepherd boy until the Lord promoted him to be king of Israel.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, was nobody in the little village of Nazareth, until the Lord showed favor on God, and she became the mother of our savior Jesus Christ.
No matter where you are now, when your focus is on God, he will ensure that you are promoted in due season.
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. Psalm 75:6-8
Wait for your promotion in the year 2017.
